For some reason last week I was excited about a particular day.
I am not one to rush my life away by looking forward to something pushing and shoving the hours and minutes aside so I can move forward out of the present.
We were only going to be doing something very ordinary but it involved some other treats to make the event a full blown occasion.
Daughts says I do that! It’s the legacy of having four children and homeschooling on one income!
When the day dawned I was relieved because now I didn’t have to concentrate on not being in the moment. I had finally caught up with myself and was fully here.
We set off for Bromley to do some exchanges and grind coffee beans then we caught the bus to Victoria. I had the backpack Daughts had left me,
and walked around for the rest of the day with the soothing aroma of freshly ground coffee following me.
We did a few more exchanges at my favourite new shop, UniGlo and popped into River Island to buy some Lattice Shoes I had seen only a few weeks ago with Daughts but now were sold out. I picked up the last pair, white, which just happened to be my size, for half price.
An aside from Daughts when she was still living at home,
“When you say let’s ‘think’ about something before buying it, it is never there when we return…” too true this time Daughts although I lucked out and can always have hubs dye the white!
Sushi is my new best food, although give me a baguette with cheese and cucumber any day! I am joining the ranks of the fashionable eaters complete with chopsticks and all!
I had to have my chocolate bar so bought a Cadbury’s Whole Nut to eat in the theatre at The Main Event!
After walking through Traflagar Square and copping an eyeful of this blue cockerel (a piece of art)-
-totally missing Nelson’s Column in the snapshot (….sorry!!)- we wound up at The Wyndham to see Felicity Kendal, from The Good Life, in Alan Ayckbourn’s comedy, Relatively Speaking, originally entitled, Meet My Father.
The play was very funny and it’s always such a delight to watch a beloved actress live even from half a mile away!
There endeth a most excellent day!!
