I’ve been tossed away like a piece of flotsam,
Cast adrift in a sea of confusion.
Drowned in a bay of decisions.
Tangled in a torrent of lies.
Left floating in a river of loathing.
I’ve been blocked like an unwelcome text,
snarled by a tangle of words.
Scorned by those I thought cared,
gutted by withering looks,
laid waste by the cruelty of kin.
I’ve been swept aside like an early morning web,
ignored by those whom I’ve loved.
Betrayed by them, I call my own,
disowned by flesh and blood,
knocked down by a tender embrace.
And yet,
All my life I’ve been delighted in,
needed nothing more than Him.
Caught up in His promise,
forgiven by His gift,
unravelled by His rising.
All my life I’ve been cherished
always welcome in His presence.
guided by His footprints,
caressed by His gaze,
cradled in His arms.
I’ve surrendered
to the Way, the Truth and the Life.
I’ve given
my all to Christ.
My struggle is real,
I share it with Him.
It is done,
No more lies,
I am His.
